This is a very good book. Trading is challenging for most people because they simply don't have tools or confidence to successful. Llewelyn James has put together a book that solves these problems and others. This book covers so many topics it's difficult to really do it justice in a short review. I have done many of the things new traders do: read books, watch videos, attend seminars, subscribe to newsletters, learn technical analysis and so on. Indeed, I found myself smiling at some of the things the author identifies as either mistakes are activities of low value because I recognized an earlier version of myself in those descriptions. Most of the information you get out there is really designed to enrich the trainer without really leaving the trainee with the necessary tools and proper thinking in order to be successful. There is no magic solution or some voodoo indicator that will bring you success because if there was, it would quickly be learned by an uncountable number of traders and then arbitraged into uselessness. That is why this book is important - it tells it like it is. And then, after giving you the straight goods on what the markets is really like, and what you can realistically expect, the author goes on to explain what to do about it. It's like having an experienced trader sit down with you and say: "This is what it is, this is why it is, these are the tools you need, this is how you use them and this is why". Remarkably, the training and tools that you will get are essentially free. Yeah, the book costs a couple bucks but that's a stupidly low price for what you get. Talking about the cost of the book doesn't make sense. The value is so high compared to the price that you should just read it. Clearly the author is not in it for the money (like 99% of the rest of the industry).
