Every now and then a book is written about a subject, or a body region. This book is to me a definite landmark in covering the operative techniques in Foot and Ankle Surgery. Although the title is operative technique, the authors do an excellent job in discussing the pathogenesis, the clinical picture and investigations. The presentation of several techniques to the individual problem and linking these subjects together is really admirable. The sketches, medical illustrations and photography is of very good quality.It is a must reading in the field as it allows the surgeon the choice and definitely broadens the horizons in this field.
The text contain many subjects, many of which it covers very briefly. There are many other text that are more comprehensive. Overall a fair text.
I love that this book has the pitfalls and procedure explained. Most books don't offer that nugget of info! Glad I added this to my book resources.
The graphics and procedural descriptions are excellent. It also gives pitfalls to be alert for when performing the procedures discussed.
