I took up photography late in life and just a few years ago. I only shoot film and am always searching for new books about film photography (rare as they are). I pre-ordered this book with the suspicion that there would be at least some small tribute to film. I was completely ignorant of the young author - and his work as an actor. More important to me. . . he has an XPan!I did not expect to be so thoroughly charmed by this book. It is sweet and he is talented. His images (which appear to be all shot on film), are seriously GOOD. A nice mix of "urban", "noir" and thoughtful portraits - plus much more. His words and poems are eloquent, touching, and I enjoy reading them as much as viewing the photos. I am so happy that Mr. Allen shared his very early photos and the stories behind them; because well, it is a delightful, relatable read and I am always interested in how "photographic journeys" begin. Thank you for sharing. Your book has inspired me. I hope there will be a 2nd someday. . .
Absolutely amazing. I read it all in one sitting. Keegan's photography is beautiful, even the photos he took as a 10 year old boy are mind blowing. The poetry/lyrics are just wow (made me cry) and it was really neat to get a glimpse at all the behind the scenes of filmmaking. I bought this book solely based on his photography from Instagram (the only thing I have ever seen him act in is Palo Alto) and I'm blown away. You have a fan for life, Keegan.
I love photography books and i love toby.. So when @keeoone books release world wide, i took the chance to grab it fast. Finished the book today and feel so much inspiring. This book not only picture, but he shares so many personal thoughts on it... Thats what make this book so special. Is not only beautiful to see but also easy and beautiful to read.. So even tho for people who doesn't fancy photography or Toby.. This book still worth to get and perfect accompanied to your morning coffee or tea while you listen to Photograph by ed sheeran..
This is such a great book! It really gives you a peek into what made Keegan Allen the person he is today, and watching his journey through photography is amazing. Definitely a great book, I am so glad I grabbed it!
Not a shallow book. I admit, i only bought it because Im a PLL fan. But the book amazed me. The depth involved was astounding. As an art fanatic, this will be a fav of mine for years to come.
I can't even begin to explain how much I love this book. It was one of those books that I couldn't even order online. I had to physically purchase it. Every time I went to a store that sold books, I searched it out. But I could never find it. And then I finally got a chance to go to B&N and there it was. Sitting front row in perfect view as I walked in. Keegan Allen is amazingly talented and I really hope he puts together another of these books in the future. Its absolutely beautiful and I couldn't get enough.I am a lover of photography. Ever since I discovered how to use a camera, I've been taking photos. I remember having backpacks full of rolls of film that needed to be developed. Looking at photos satisfies that hunger in me just as much as taking them and Keegan Allen is a very talented photographer. His photos are beautiful, sometimes odd, and one hundred percent unique.The photographs in this book aren't just there for viewing pleasure. Like all good photos do, they also told a story. They told the story of Keegan's life. Starting way back to the very first photo he ever took, his childhood, young love, the loss of his father and all the way up to his days on Pretty Little Liars and all of the good things that come with fame. He easily captured the simple life but also shared with us some of the parts of Hollywood that most of us will never get to experience.I found myself drawn to this book in a special kind of way. I haven't had a book grab me and hold on quite like this one in years. This is one that will forever be on my bookshelf, one that I will come back to many times throughout my life.I definitely recommend life.love.beauty and I will purchase any book that Keegan Allen comes out with in the future.Rating: 5 Stars
This book is so astonishing! I went to his book signing in Atlanta and he is so down to earth and has a true passion for everything he does. This book is a wonderful collection of photos that show different sides of Keegan that you may not of seen before. The photography is beautiful and the song lyrics are good as well! I would definetly recommend to anyone interested in photography!
Keegan is literally so talented. If you appreciate art/photography and love PLL then I definitely recommend it. Also pay attention to when he does his book signing things because he's absolutely amazing.
