Here’s the very first text to address this evolving new area of OT practice! It teaches students about health promotion and prevention theory and practice from a wellness rather than an illness perspective. Using “cutting edge” examples, the authors explore how to incorporate this new paradigm into clinical practice and how to develop wellness interventions across the lifespan.

Each chapter begins with a word bank and learning objectives to help guide you through the reading material. The readings give examples to theories helping you to understand the material in a more concrete manner. Study questions at the end give you another way to gauge whether you understand the core concepts in the chapters.I found the reading to be a little cumbersome, but what textbook isn't? Overall it gives a good foundation to understand OT's role in the promotion of health and wellness. They do provide pictures of the different models used and try to explain concepts and then give examples that might further help your understanding. Overall I would recommend this book to anyone trying to develop a better understanding of where OT fits in to our new mandate to not only address health problems, but to also promote health prevention and healthy practices in life.

Even though some Info is dated (ex healthy people 2010 instead of healthy people 2020),it has thorough overview of public health theories ...its a great book overall and has great explanation on how public health projects and programs can be planned, implemented and assessed.

The book arrived exactly how it was described. There weren't any defects to be seen. It also has some very interesting topics.

I bought this right before summer semester started, thinking I wouldn't get it in time, and was happy to find that it came just days after I ordered it and was in great condition!

Exactly as it was described!

Good condition. Useful
