I did not find this product helpful at all. The official American Heart Association ACLS book is much more organized and to the point. And since the course is an American Heart Association offering it makes sense to use their book. I have put this book aside and will finish my reviewing from the official book. This was not money well spent.
This book was NOT helpful and does not contain any of the updates set inplace by the AHA...This book was a total waste of my money, I wish I could get a refund for it. Don't waste your time or money on this book.
Very Good reference book. Easy to read and comprehend. I'm a fairly new RN and work in a Critical Care Unit so I keep this book with me at work for fast easy reference. I love Incredibly Easy reference books.
So, I understand why other reviewers are dissatisfied and comparing this to the official AHA handbook. It doesn't have the updated changes in it, and isn't "straight to the point." However, as someone who just graduated medical school, I am extremely pleased with this book, as a supplement to the AHA manual. I reviewed cardiac rhythms/ EKGs, airway management, defibrillation & cardioversion, cardiovascular drugs, central and peripheral IVs (and other invasive procedures), and of course, the algorithms for different resuscitation scenarios. Everything was explained in a very simple manner, without any filler, but with enough detail to help me understand why I would do something, how I would do it, and what could go wrong. Concepts were also explained in a fun, easy to follow manner that made reading this book a breeze. Maybe this benefited me more because medical school was a big blur of pathophysiology and more advanced medical knowledge (not as much focus on the simple things), but either way, I'm a satisfied customer.
It is a good overview of concepts but with ACLS you are NOT trying to get a general understanding of a topic but pass a test.
Well laid out format and easy to understand review course. Excellent to read before the ACLS book or afterward to check comprehension. Highly recommend!
This is a great review. It covers all the criteria for heart rhythms. It explains in detail the steps in the code response. Very helpful review.
You will regret not using this great review book ,this and rapid interpretation of EKG's by Dale Dubin should get you thru
