Now more than ever–locally, nationally, globally–society is in need of community health services. This book emphasizes the application of community health nursing as it relates to specific populations, settings, and community health problems. Theoretically and scientifically sound, as well as practical and applicable, this resource is a thorough introduction to the specialty. Unit I sets the stage for practice by describing the context in which community health nursing occurs. Unit II examines community health nursing as a specialized area of practice, exploring its population focus and the attributes and features making it unique. Unit III presents common processes used in community health nursing. Unit IV examines community health nursing care provided to special population groups. Unit V presents community health nursing practice in specialized settings. Finally, Unit VI focuses on community health nursing practice related to common population health problems. For nurse generalists–who need to function in any setting, providing care to individuals, families, communities, and population groups.

I agree with the reviewer that stated that this textbook is redundant. It is poorly written and therefore a pain to read. As a nursing student I appreciated textbooks that get to the point and organize the information. This textbook does not do this; the information is scattered and repetitive. You essentially have to dig through the text to find the important stuff. Someone needs to rewrite this book!

I bought the book for winter session nursing course. The book is readable and interesting . It is a very good book. This book really holds your attention.

I bought this book used for a really cheap price I think it was about 3-4 dollars anyway the book gave me all the information I needed for the class and it was in outstanding condition some pages were marked but I could still see what I needed to read. would definitely recommend to all.

Buy this one with main book. It is nice exersizes. Great for nursing students. Sell in good condition after you pass the class.

I had this as a textbook for Community Health Nursing. It is left leaning and biased. The author stated that the terrorists responsible for 9/11 thought America too proud...that is why they attacked the WTC. What????!!!!! She didn't even call them terrorists. In another place, the author stated that evidently Jesus didn't love the little children because of the ills many of them face. Really??The text itself is written in a very non-straightforward manner. Lots of words to say nothing of substance.

I really enjoyed the book. It has a lot of information that is laid out well. I never thought I could be interested in public health nursing until I read this book for school.

Item was sold as "used, very good" and was marked up with highlighter throughout. It is disappointing as I try to trust the conditions so I can sell them back.

This book was sold as new, but it was used. It had been written in, and was in ok shape, but still if I wanted a used book, I would have bought one.
