This book arrived recently and I was very surprised when I open my parcel. The book in its design and presentation is sumptuous, given the humble nature of its contents. This is my new 'bible'. I will carry it with me as much as possible and read many of its essays repeatedly. My favourite so far however is the aptly titled 'American Photography n the 1970s: Too Old To Rock, To Young To Die'. I hope this becomes de-facto undergrad research fodder as a potted history of photography during its uptake as an art form is clever compelling and insightful. I cannot sing the praises of this book or Mr Baltz's writing enough. If your serious about photography get this book NOW!

Few artist write so well as Baltz.
