I purchased this book last semester for the fall semester for my Respiratory therapy class. I liked many things about it, it is straight forward and easy to understand, the reviews work wonders and it has a great flow to the information. The bad parts are the glossary has not nearly as many needed terms defined. The answers for the chapter reviews are non existent, and the book is riddled with spelling errors, I would have also like color photographs and better diagrams in some areas. I would recommend this book if you have no alternative, it gets the job done but if there is a newer addition or alternative I would say get that one.

I love the way this book gives end of chapter questions like you will see on your NPS certification exam. The authors of this book have written it to help you know what to expect and what to know in order to pass your certification exam.
Excellent content, but so many typos for a third edition! There are Posttest questions at the end of each chapter, which provide a good review. Some answers are obscure and I've had to reread portions several times for the answer. There are other questions that don't have a right answer listed.
The book is packed with writing and underlining from the previous owner that its sometimes had to read and very distracted, but it does the job and definitely beats spend that enormous amount of money for the used version in school
This book is way overdue for an update. The description of disease states is still accurate, but treatment information is very old and doesn't reflect changes in the last 10-15 years. Also, there are tons of typos throughout the book (example: the chapter eleven questions are cut off, as if they left out a page or two.) It's easy enough to read, and the price is right because it has been around for so long, but a newer book with up-to-date info would be worth the money.
I was very satisfied with the delivery time, the condition of the book new as it mentioned and taking the time to make sure I received exactly what I paid for, and I was only charged the exact amount it stated I would be charged. Awesome!
An excellent resource even if somewhat dated. I didn't have the finances to purchase the latest edition but would not hesitate to do so in the future.
