Without page numbers and with no ability to zoom in on figures (making most unreadable), the Kindle edition is not a bargain at $88. With absolutely no marginal production costs, we really ought to be seeing more value for our money. Hopefully the Kindle app features as well as those of the electronic editions themselves will catch up eventually. So far, they haven't.After a frustrating back and forth with customer support in which they initially denied that there was a problem with the book, I've gotten my money back for this edition. The tech guy confirmed that this was a McGraw-Hill problem and not a Kindle problem, and was true for all three editions of the book: PC, Mac and Android that he tried, and he had no fix.In the end, was helpful and apologetic, but had no solution. This book is (as of Jan 2011) completely useless as an electronic edition.
This Anatomy and Physiology book is great. There are plenty of illustrations that help you see what the book is talking about and charts for quick summary of illness or functions of topics being discussed. There are also Clinical IMPACTs throughout the book which gives the reader information about illnesses and disorders that occur within the system being presented. The end of the chapter summaries for each section are very useful when wanting to quick find information or looking for where to find the information that you want. The writer also wrote it in a way that is understandable, easy to read, and inclusive of relevant information. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for an A&P book.
This book is required text in my A&P I and II courses. The illustrations/pictures are great and the homeostasis figures throughout the book make for easy understanding. Purchasing through versus my campus bookstore was the way to go - I saved a lot of money on a brand new book and received it in less than a week.
The book arrived quickly, it was in great condition. There were no highlights or markups in the pages, so it was almost like new. The pages were all there, nothing was missing. After a couple weeks of daily usage, one of the pages fell out. But honestly, that would have happened anyway at some point with a brand new book too. This book is so heavy, there is no way I would have shipped it back for a new one if I had to work with the manufacturer, and one page feel out. So, for the price, it is WAY smarter to get this book used. The new books and the this book are nearly exactly the same in quality.
This textbook is an excellent source for both scholars and those in the medical field. Whether studying for courses or referring to this book as a reference, Seeley's Anatomy and Physiology is a large book packed with in-depth knowledge of various parts of the human body and how they interact with one another. The book also uses a varied word choice which causes the reader to truly learn the meaning of the material beyond a basic definition; one must truly understand a concept and relate it to others as the book progresses. In this case, bigger is truly better for this book offers ample information of the human body's structures and their functions.
I was able to return this book because I found out AFTER I enrolled that I didn't need to take this class. I will be ordering all my future textbooks from due to the quality, and cost! This was a good product, and arrived in time.
This is a coursework textbook and it serves very well for A+P students. Do not let it fall on your toes though lol. I study this at home because I cannot carry it at all times I have class because it is so heavy.
The book has very helpful diagrams especially of the skull and skeletal system which they try to cover form every angle (even if it gets a little repetitive). The muscle charts are nice because they show an drawing, human cadaver picture, and also pictures of live subjects for surface orientation, they also have lists of all the origins and insertions so this was a very helpful supplement to my lecture and lab material.
