This is a great little pocket book and includes the important things to look for or ask about when providing routine well care to children. I give a copy of this to each of my medical students and encourage them to review it before going into the room to see the patient. In regards to physical development or screening that is what this book is used for. On each age group it lists what should be done at that age and suggests what screening should be done at that visit. ie BP, head size, lead level, etc. If you are looking for weight change at each age group take a look at the WHO (world health organization) growth chart. Knowing the rate of change probably isn't that important to your patients, just plot the points and show them the curve.Again, keep in mind that this is meant to be a pocket guide for the full text. If it included the vaccine schedule it would be out of date within 1 year of print. It does well with anticipatory guidance. One more thing, if you are not into having a physical copy of the pocket guide you can download this exact thing in PDF format for free and legally from the AAP website.

This is an essential tool for the family practitioner that doesn't see pediatric patients enough to have everything memorized. This allows for me to feel confident in every well child examination that I conduct. It allows for me to give precise and simple advice to parents and get all the milestones checked. Other clinicians in my office routinely borrow this because it is so valuable. Excellent product. I also bought the accompanying book, but don't use it that often.

Thr Bright futures pocket guide great for anyone treating pediatric patients or in nursing or medical school. I would highly recommend this book. I am in my last rotation as a family nurse practitioner and I use this book daily.

It does have the information from birth to teen about milestones, wet/poop diapers, diet, etc. It does not have vaccines. However I would like it if the book would have tabs because it's not so easy to flip and find 6mos infant. You have to keep flipping and looking at the headings on the side. I also wish it had more of "abnormal findings" in each section.

This is a nice pocket size review book for anyone going into pediatrics. It is a bit basic in terms of content but is great for looking at anticipatory guidelines at different age groups. Recommended for anyone in peds.

White it is pocket sized and thus can't contain everything you'd ever want to know about pediatric development and recommendations, it does serve as a good guide and has served me well as a nurse practitioner student. It's easy to follow and definitely worth the price. If you work in peds or are a med/NP/PA student, this is a good guide.

I'm a FNP student and I reference this a lot when I have peds well-visits. Peds are hard to remember because they change every year and what they're capable of doing at what age etc. It's great. Easy to follow. Easy to read right before you see a pt.

I used this everyday during my pediatric NP rotation. It was a life saver for providing care according to the Bright Futures Guidelines. It was very easy to use and is split up by age with questions for the children highlighted in one color and questions for the parents highlighted in another.
