Had to use this book for a class. I didn't think it was as biased as some others reviewed it to be, but there were times that you could tell it would swing one way or the other. Overall it was informative, and I learned alot.

I enjoyed this, thoroughly. After my 9 week class I was little burnt out as the amount of reading but I learned a lot more than I thought I would. Not sure why some people are mentioning quality, my copy has held up great. Like I stated I learned a lot- meaning I wouldn't know if everything is factually correct- but everything made sense, was explained well, and was supported very well by my class's summaries. I didn't feel a 'political slant', any more than I expected from a textbook primarily rooted in the government's interaction over the last 100 years.

I gave it 4 stars because whether I like the book or love the book doesn't really matter as I needed it for a college course. Sorry this review likely won't be of much help but it did arrive on time and was exactly as it was advertised.

The outstanding work by Harry Lawrence is diminished by the the poor construction of the paperback book. No glue on the binding resulted in the pages falling out. Since I could not return the book in the middle of class and await the return of a replacement, the return date expired. Wish I could have read the words inside the book without opening it.

This book is doing its job by providing the information to pass the class. That's the only reason it got a second star. I will probably never rate a textbook highly, simply because their prices are so inflated you aren't really getting what you pay for.

If I could give it a lower rating I would. The author of the book cannot figure out when to use 'ensure' or 'insure' throughout, causing me to question every single word in the book and its accuracy. Throughout the book is a very clear political slant teaching that government regulations are bad, unhindered free trade is the best thing ever and that trade unions are the devil. I'm not saying that it's not acceptable to have those ideas. I'm saying that an educational textbook should not have any kind of political slant in the least.Harry W Lawrence, please do not write another text book.

Book is easy to read and I like history so it was interesting to me. the only thing that was bad was there was some facts that weren't correct, and the book fell apart very easily
