I'm an amateur photographer. A mom of two who is driven to duplicate the pictures I see and deliver some awesome vacation shots. What I liked about this book was that it was succint. Some of the photography books overwhelm you with 30 pages about the elements of good lighting. Not here! Whereas that may be great for a pro it makes my eyes glaze over. This was perfect! There was enough technical detail to understand without inducing yawns. This book focuses on awesome photography and describing how to duplicate the shots. I loved that most of the shots told the f and ISO so that I could begin to duplicate the photos I wanted. Before I finished the book I had my Nikon 3200 in hand taking shots of my toddler. Very inspiring!

I'm a hobbyist photographer (and one of Heather's clients) and this book is by far the best one I've read about photographing your children. There are so many wonderful tips and I'm already seeing improvements in my photography. It's very easy to understand for beginners who know very little, but also a lot of great information for those who know their way around a DSLR pretty well. If Heather ever writes another book, I will be all over it!

This book is for the absolute beginner, I wish it would have had a little bit more information to take it a step further.
