This is a must-have for all group counselors! This book goes through the four stages of group counseling: Introduction, transition, working, and termination. The group provides examples of each stage, and group exercise suggestions. Each chapter covers various topics, from stages of group counseling to working with problem group members. This is a must-have book for the shelf of a group counselor. It is a great reference book. When I am stuck in the transition stage of group counseling with my group, I can refer back to this book to get tips on how to move forward into the working stage. The chapters are laid out so that the book is easy to navigate. Therefore, if you are only needing to look at a specific section, you can easily find what you are looking for.

This is an amazing textbook that explores both group dynamics and "what to do" as a group leader. As a counselor educator, I have reviewed dozens of group counseling textbooks. I love this book and students report loving it too. If your teaching group, this is the textbook to go with.

Amazing book that is essential for group leaders. There are a plethora of examples and first-hand accounts. I would probably say this is the best book I've purchase for my Masters degree in counseling.

I wanted to start a group counseling club and i didn't know how, but becaus eof htis book, now i know how

Great book for group leaders. Out of the four books that I read for my class, this was the easiest read and most comprehended. It will be a book that I will reference.

Outer cover is a little run down, but the inside is completely useable and seems new.

Great text for class and a good resource for future practice!

It met all of my expectations I needed for my class.
