This book is pretty good for a text book. Obviously, it is research methods specifically targeted at criminology and criminal justice, but the real like examples are abundant with this textbook. The wording is not unnecessarily difficult and the book flows pretty seamlessly. Once I read the chapter's I feel like I have great knowledge of the material.

There are far better research texts out there. This book does a great job of presenting all the different terminology that goes along with research but what it does not do is break down the terminology so that the average student can grasp the meaning. The text offers some examples but not near enough to further help understand the various terms that go along with research. If you are not familiar with research you will struggle with this text. In addition to this text, I used the text "The Practice of Social Research" by Earl Babbie, which does a great job of breaking down the terminology. I do not think any instructor wishing to introduce research to their students should use this as an introductory text. If you insist on using this, at least, use another text that will provide easy to understand examples and explanations for the extensive research terms.

This book has every term, reference, and definition you could possibly want or need for this particular subject. However, the authors do a terrible job of explaining the various research methods, terminology, etc. in a user-friendly, understandable in a novice type of way. There has to be better textbook that exists for someone that has never had any exposure to this subject or type of research before.

And research methods class is horrible to take, but Bachman's new edition of this text was awesome to use as a reference and a guide while writing my research proposal.

Awesome book :) great condition!!

I actually rented this book through for a class I took. The process of renting was fantastic. The book is also fantastic. Well written.

A very readable book. It does contain a few editing errors, but overall has solid information and is delivered well.

This book was a required reading book for a college course. Its a well written book. I would recommend the book.
