Medical Terminology: An Illustrated Guide, 7e by Barbara Janson Cohen uses a stepwise approach to learning medical terminology. Part 1 describes how medical terms are built from word parts; Part 2 introduces body structures, diseases, and treatments; and Part 3 describes each body system. Individual chapters also build on knowledge in stages: the Key Terms sections list the terms most commonly used; more specialized terms are included in a later section entitled “Supplementary Terms.”         The current edition includes a robust student ancillary package delivered under the PASSport to Success brand, with assessment exercises, chapter quizzes, and searchable text online, and a complete suite of instructor resources.

I highly recommend this book to anyone struggling to master medical terminology. This book provided the best quality flashcards I have ever found in a med. term. book. The language is easy to understand. The illustrations have really helped because I am a visual learner and I can read AND SEE what the terminology is. Best med. term. book I have ever owned.

I completed a degree in Management and recently started working in a Hospital. I need to take certification exams in order to advance in this career path. This book is used to study for the exam. It was recommended by my supervisor.

Awesome! Very good for all styles of learning. You are given a website to get your learning style assessed and have all drills to accommodate your style. Comes with CD-Rom for more options and great learning to absorb the material.

I find the material within the chapters is presented in a manner that is not quite logical to me. Additionally, I find it very annoying that content on a page often refers to things not shown in the illustrations making it more difficult to learn the material.

I like this book because it is no fuss. Author stays on topic and explains well. The pictures are good and easy to understand; in color. There is a code key and a cd so make sure you have a good key code because the info is good there too. I couldn't find one thing they kept talking about so I contacted them and in three days I had an answer. I'd buy more from this publishing house.

What I love most about this textbook is the many colorful illustrations, organized format and tons of case studies. Very well done. I would recommend to anyone.

This downloaded version is a life saver. It was hard for me to read the print in the book so I was thrilled to be able to download this book. I can enlarge the print when needed, highlight text and a lot of other features.

I saw alot of people complain about using the kindle version of textbooks and at first I too thought I'd made a grave mistake buying the digital version. Now that I am more familiar with the setup I actually like it alot. The trick to using a digital copy of a textbook is bookmarks. This makes it easier for you to jump to important pages. For example I might bookmark the location of the chapter 4 review answers. Even if I'm not on chapter 4 anymore, jumping to that particular bookmarks helps me find chapter 5, 6, and even 7 review answers pretty fast. The bookmarks will be listed on a tab and all you have to do is tap or click it.The kindle version does not come with prep U, so if your teacher uses prep U be ready to pay an extra 70 bucks, but your have to do the same if you got a used book. The other thing I like about the digital version is not having to carry a big bulky book with me. And the OTHER thing I like is if I suddenly find myself with free time at some random place like the doctors office and I don't have my computer, I can pull my book up on my phone! Or even another persons computer. The book itself is awesome as well. Be sure to use all the things st review questions because as you answer them, you learn the material better. Very good book!
