I really like the way Fitzgerald compiled it. The photos of early Dallas (my hometown) were great, and directly opposite, the photos of the way it is now, just as the title depicts. It brought forth favorite memories, and makes a great coffee table book.

What a loss for art, architecture and Dallas, that's all I could think about looking through this small book. It has photos of many Dallas hotels and buildings. Most of it was torn down to accommodate the ugly sprawl that was created in the 1950's to make room for super freeways and lackluster corporate buildings that have no character.Doesn't cover Dallas downtown that much. It seems like much of the old was torn down.Overrated architect Philip Johnson put up his hideous JFK Memorial in 1970. I wonder what they tore down to put up such an ugly box.

New locations, modern photos. An excellent follow up to Mr. Fitzgerald's original book. Having lived and worked in Dallas for years, my whole family loves this!

I enjoyed seeing this review of old Dallas. It compares favorably with some others I have read, in fact, it is probably to be considered a better job.
