The re-imagined twelfth edition of The Theatre Experience is students' ticket to the best seat in the house. From Broadway to makeshift theater spaces around the world, the author demonstrates the active and lively role they play as audience members by engaging them in the collaborative and creative processes behind and in front of the curtain. Wilson introduces students to the roles of the performers, directors, producers and designers, while emphasizing the insights they as audience members bring to any production. Recast as fifteen chapters, the twelfth edition better accommodates today's teaching schedules, as well as improves accessibility for students by concise insight and up-to-date vibrant production visuals. Students join the creative process with The Theatre Experience, and rehearse for their role as life-long audience members.

As one of the other reviewers pointed out, this edition will not download onto your "kindle". It is available via the kindle apps for mac and pc, but you are SOL if you want to be able to take it along on your ereader...Come on , whats the deal???

When I purchased the book, I guess I would assume that the Kindle Edition would be able to work on my 3G. It says that you can use it on an iPad, Mac or PC, no Kindle required. It doesn't say that it WON'T work on the Kindle. I have the App on my Mac, but I was hoping to be a little bit more mobile. Just a little frustrating at the deception.

Arrived before I could get home from my mother's after visiting for the weekend. Shipping was awesome, book is great quality. Teacher uses tests from the publishing company, so the information comes straight from the book. the theater experience is a great experience :)

It is a easy read and provides some very interesting fact about the elements and history of theatre. However it is a book required to a class so I normally would not have bought it but now that I have I am glad because I am learning a lot. If you are looking for a good book to help you learn about the elements of theater this book will meet your needs.

This textbook was for my introduction to drama class. The book is written almost in a lecture style in itself making it easy to understand, easy and fast to read, and just fun over all. For anyone who is interested in the history, development, and different styles of theatre they will enjoy this book

Has a lot of interesting things to learn about the different types of genre of plays and how stages have progressed through out time. my only problem was that i never got to read it often in class but that isn't the books fault now is it

I am unfamiliar with the theatre and wanted to learn. This book is both informative and captivating with many photos and references from past to present. I enjoyed learning how terms like "being in the limelight" and "being upstaged" originated and their meaning. Overall, I enjoyed this read very much.

I bought this for my gen ed class. The book itself is good and well put together but, I don't care about theater, just a gen ed. GREAT RESALE VALUE. I think I paid around $70 for it a resold it for $40. Great for an intro to theater book
