The Hero 4 Black is the 3rd GoPro camera that I have owned since they started making them. After having had purchased an excellent book from this author in the past for my GoPro 2, I thought that my knowledge would be more than sufficient to use my new camera, but I was wrong. The camera settings changed with this new model, as did the look and feel of the imagery. Being that I like to read tutorials and have things explained in a common sense manner, I figured I would give another one of these books from this author a try. A friend of mine bought this book before me so I was able to see what I was getting before I bought my own. This book does an excellent job explaining how and why to use the different camera settings. I am not the most mechanical individual and need to have things spelled out in a clear way. The author is clear and concise when describing how to use the specific features of the camera. Also, the author provides visual examples of how to use the camera provided the end result that you may want to achieve. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is using a GoPro camera for the first time or who is upgrading from an older device. I can't normally say this about "How To" books that I have read in the past. This one is an easy read and takes the frustration out of learning something new.
This book takes all the guesswork out of using a GoPro. The book is very clear and straight forward in regards the use of a Go Pro. It's nice to have all the information, tips and settings at your finger tips especially in a large font and with pictures (the pictures make it easy to understand). I have always used the most basic settings when using my go pro until reading this book. It's just as easy using all of the settings than just 4-5 because the instruction is so straight forward and well explained. If your an adventure junky and want killer shots and videos, buy this book. Its totally worth the cash!
Clearly written and logical, step by step explanation and instruction for my first GoPro camera. This ended up being a perfect companion to have a hard copy reference and guide. And, I'm sure I'm just scratching the surface as I get more experience with my GoPro!
If you are looking for a very quick read on how to mount a GoPro this is your book! I was looking for something more in-depth. The author spends most of his time writing about all the different mounting options...with links to purchase....I was hoping to find details about the camera and it's modes....4K through SD. I was really disappointed. Explaining how to adjust a helmet mount is not helpful...The are many free resources that are much more informative travis@projectgo.pro via aweber.com is a go-to site....
Cheap on the kindle. Easy on the eyes. Easy to read. Pictured examples. You never question what the author is talking about because he is so concise. I learned everything I needed to and more.
This is the missing manual that should have come with the unit. This book clearly describes the Hero 4 Black, the functions, how to use them, tips and the accessories. Additionally, tips tips provide the user with application trades that allows the user to decide what is the best settings for their needs. I should have read this before I bought my Hero 4 Black. I would have bought the Hero 4 Silver because it would have suited my needs better. Live and learn.
I am learning as I go with each new camera go pro makes. With the help of this author and these books, it is making me better and better at filming and editing. This camera doesn't come naturally for me, so I really appreciate the detailed instruction and inspiration this book is giving me. Thanks
Excellent book for understanding the basics and more of what you can do with a GoPro Hero4 Black. Read it on my way to Alaska and got some great action shots including shots of fish (salmon) underwater.
