I rated this book a 5 star because it's the only book a Canon photographer needs to begin making excellent flash photographs. It's easy to read, is very understandable and is filled with both flash equipment and Canon camera colored photographs which emphasize in great detail how to make the camera/flash units work. Very importantly, you can get up and shooting fast by selecting specific sections of the book that apply directly to your planned photo session.I found the book to be divided into 3 major sections. Section 1 covers the first 4 chapters or 66 pages. Everyone using Canon flash systems should read these. They describe the Canon approach to designing its flash equipment and provide a quick start guide. Also included are recommendations for making the camera and flash work together. This is capped off by a short and easily understable chapter on flash theory that enables the reader to better understand why their equipment works the way it does so they can make it work better for themselves.Section 2 is a 105 page multiple chapter description of the operations of Canon's line of flashes. Each flash unit has its own chapter which eliminates any possibility of confusion between flash units. The flashes covered are the 270EX II, 320EX, 430EX II,580EX, 580EX II and Canon's top of the line 600EX-RT radio transmission model. To use this section, you select your flash model and receive a 15 - 20 page description of its operation. Also included are numerous discussions for using manual light meters when setting up your camera and flash units manually.The 3rd and last Section contains multiple chapters focused on using the equipment in different photographic environments.
