I enjoy the way Evans explains why one is to perform the ortho and how to do it; I love the dvd that comes with the book (if you buy it new). The video shows how to do some of the exams and reports the findings! I have the large (3 edition) in my library. Because I needed a smaller book to carry around daily, I ordered the pocket Evans.
Evans is one of the basic names in orthopedic testing. This book is the carry version of the larger textbook and, as far as I am concerned, as good as its larger (heavier) version. I am a chiropractic student so I needed a book for my training and my eventual office - this is the book I chose. Quick descriptions and conditions, and easy to follow pictures make this the best orthopedic testing book out there.
Excellent guide to assessment...the tables and organization make this book equal to none. The pictures and clinical perils are invaluable.
This book is great because it contains so much information while it is a really nice size to handle. It is easy to carry with me in my bag or turn to in the office while diagnosing patients.
I did not realize that this was a pocket manual. Otherwise, it's ok.
