Good enough that I'm looking at more from Nolo press. The best discussion I've yet found on LTC insurance (chapter 11 of the sixth edition that i have in front of me as i await delivery of 10th edition, and i believe [without proof] that the insurance chapter is sold separately by Nolo but from the table of contents appears to follow the referenced chapter topic-by-topic. Nolo press doesn't date the stand-alone on LTC insurance).Separate chapters on 1) Making Decisions re LTC 2) Home Care 3) Organized Senior Residences 4) LTC Facilities 5) Care for Alzheimers 6) Hospice Care 7) Medicare and Veteran's Benefits 8) Medicaid 9) Asset protection for Medicaid users 10) Protecting Choices about medical care and finances, 11) LTC Insurance 12) Elder Fraud. About 30 pages of "Appendices" that include many references (that is, URLs and addresses). Decent index.Clear writing, well edited without typos or other annoyances. Very common-sense advice from an attorney well-versed on elder topics, good for both elderly and for their adult children. Current edition (October 2014) is 10th; not sure how much updating is done with each revision but revisions come every few years (1990, 1993, 1999, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008?, 2010, 2012?, 2014 where the question marks indicate 'guesses based on interpolation'). Chapter 11 on LTC Insurance has clearly been updated because it references changes in LTC Insurance that have taken place during the period after the first edition. Shortcoming: there's really not much you can say about "How to Pay for it" since neither Medicare nor Medicaid is very useful (Medicaid is somewhat, if you're basically broke, which happily does not apply to me so i didn't bother doing more than skim that part).
