This is written for medical professionals from the American Diabetes Association, but I'm a technical type, so I want in-depth information about my diabetes treatment. I have been disappointed with the more general "for the patient" types of books. They simply are too simple. This is an excellent summarization of the research and practical aspects of diabetes treatment, written for practicioners. I have found it very valuable to fill in details that my Internist may have glossed over. I believe in being an intelligent, informed partner in my treatment. It helps me understand what is really happening, and I think it helps me interact with my doctor better.The book is well organized, so it is relatively easy to pick out the pertinent information that deals with your particular situation. I have benefitted from re-reading sections as I have learned more about my case.
I'm a Certified Diabetic educator and this book covers in-depth topics in a simple and direct manner. It is a great asset to my daily education practice in words that are easy to understand and principles that are easy to apply. It is a go to resource for Diabetic management. Thanks.
