Good book that outlines the major pitfalls that healthcare practitioners (MDs, NPs, & PAs) need to avoid when diagnosing/treating patients with common and "urgent" disorders. Topics are presented in a concise and clear manner, and there are solid references to support recommendations. I would argue this text is not only appropriate for urgent care (e.g., emergency room, urgent care clinic, etc.) but it is also good for internal medicine/family medicine practice, which is where I work.
I have used this book to study for family medicine boards. I found it useful for practice as well. I was able to read it in a couple of days. I think that it was worth the money. It is well written and useful.
concise , focuses as a quick review over the areas we typically look past. Not meant to be a beginner teach you the basics type of book. Meant for someone with a foundation already and a quick review over pitfalls.
I did not look at the page count and thought I was buying something closer to Buttaravoli's book. Note the page count and content pages before buying. Buttaravoli's book is much, much more comprehensive.
Very helpful information for those of us working in urgent care. Situations that may be subtle yet may indicate emergencies.
I returned to urgent care after work in adult primary care. I needed a current reference for acute and pediatric issues. This book tells you about common pitfalls encountered in urgent care, but it is not a reference.
Great authors! The style is easy to read and understand. Illustrations are helpful. Good quick reference. I could only hope they covered even more topics.
