I am 8 months into my nursing career, and starting out as an ICU nurse has been challenging. I glanced through this book when one of my coworkers left hers floating around the unit and I knew I had to have my own copy. I love it! It is an excellent resource. I bring all sorts of papers and reference material with me to work at various times, but I *always* have this book, because it is small but packed with helpful information. I have started writing additional notes in it so it will eventually be the only thing I have to keep with me. It has been invaluable to me, and I find myself wishing I had the time and mental energy to sit down and read it all the way through; I know I'd learn a lot!Update: I've still use this book for reference and I've been an ICU nurse for almost 3 years. I have been off work for six months due to pregnancy and maternity leave, and when I go back to work next week I can guarantee I will be referring to this book to refresh my memory of things.

This is one of the most comprehensive and concise books I have ever come across. The information is presented in a way that is easy to understand but doesn't down play your intelligence. I am a nurse in a trauma/neuro ICU and I was recommended this book while on orientation as a new grad nurse by a surgeon. This book provides basic info on common and uncommon issues that you face in the critical care environment. I keep this book in my work bag and utilize it almost every shift. I STRONGLY recommend this book for anybody working in critical care.

I bought this book as a new CVICU nurse who is precepting in the CVICU and occasionally in the ICU. Very easy to read info and very helpful. Everything I've seen so far in the ICU has been in this book.

This is a great reference book for any critical care nurse!!! It is the only thing I used to review for my CCRN

This has become my go to reference guide for work. I work in the Medical/Surgical/Transplant ICU, and every question I have had so far, is in this book. It's small enough to carry around, but full of information. I cannot say enough good things about this book!!!

Old ER nurse here who just transferred to ICU after working 20 yrs in the ED. I thought I knew a lot but am finding out that I don't know anything lol. This book is a great little gem to give me a quick refresher on conditions not seen too often in the ED (ARDS, for instance). The only complaint is that the print is very small, but if it were bigger the book wouldn't fit in my hadbag, so it's a small complaint.

This book is a great reference book for school and for working. I use it as an additional resource for my school work. Its seperated in sections (eg. Respiratory, Cardiovascular, Neuro) and then there is a medication section. Its really helpful. Love this book!!

I work in the field of respiratory care. For the last 34 years I have had the opportunity to work in many critical care settings, such as adult, neonatal and pediatric intensive care units. As a Respiratory Therapist, cardiac and hemodynamics are high on the list of our expertise. I recommend this book to any medical professional who needs a good review, and even to learn from.
