Clinical judgment is a critical aspect – perhaps the most critical aspect – of efficient, accurate, and cost-effective patient care. Focusing on essential clinical skills, On Rounds: 1000 Internal Medicine Pearls helps clinicians in training and in practice to identify the critical findings that will simplify complex clinical problems and lead to an accurate diagnosis. One thousand easy-to-remember clinical aphorisms, or “pearls,” help you distinguish the important findings from the incidental, pointing out the distinctive features amidst the mass of data that is accumulated in the evaluation of a sick patient, and leading to the development of mature clinical judgment.Go “on rounds” with one of the most respected educators in internal medicine and learn from his nearly 50 years of clinical experience.Focus on the areas that are often a source of confusion for students, trainees, and even seasoned practitioners.Learn each pearl in a relevant clinical context, with tables, clinical images, and physiology information, where appropriate.Recognize “black pearls:” statements that, although widely believed, are demonstrably false.Improve your clinical judgment skills whether you’re a resident or an experienced clinician.Carry these pocket-sized pearls with you for quick reference. Now with the print edition, enjoy the bundled interactive eBook edition, which can be downloaded to your tablet and smartphone or accessed online and includes features like:Complete content with enhanced navigation  Powerful search tools and smart navigation cross-links that pull results from content in the book, your notes, and even the webCross-linked pages, references, and more for easy navigationHighlighting tool for easier reference of key content throughout the textAbility to take and share notes with friends and colleaguesQuick reference tabbing to save your favorite content for future use

Reading this book is similar to going on rounds or attending morning report with Dr. Landsberg, a master clinician and educator who weaves together clinical pearls and the underlying pathophysiology. The pithy pearls are clinically useful and memorable. This book will elevate the clinical skills of students, residents and many senior attendings and improve patient care.

This really is a great book. I am transitioning into more of a critical care position as a PA, and addressing the issues and adding the pathophys allows for such velcro learning and entertaining at the same time so I find I read it for pleasure as well as looking up and finding what I need. Thanks Dr. Landsberg, this is very appreciated!
