The phlebotomy workbook is great! It is really good to have and has a lot of practice questions. It has some questions that arent on our tests in class, and a lot of questions about things we learned.
Honestly, I am not satisfied with this book at all. How can I check if I am right or wrong if there are no answers either in the book or online? I bought it because the teacher demanded this but it's useless for me and I don't recommend this book to anybody. (May be it's OK not to have answers if you care only about grades, but if you care about knowledge, you must understand what your mistakes are. The book "Phlebotomy exam review" by the same authors is MUCH BETTER.
Be careful! This book does not match the "Look Inside" preview! Instead it is a workbook with questions and no answers. There is not even an index!I hope will update the "Look Inside" Preview because it is not fun to get a different book than you are expecting!
If you purchase the workbook used, you do not have access to the website that answers the questions. When the seller omits this information, as this seller did, it borders on deception, in my opinion.
So, I wanted to use this book as a general review for phlebotomy so that I could be up-to-date with the current practices and procedures in the field. It turns out, there is no key for it. So, I went ahead and called the publisher and ask the nice young lady over the phone if she could tell me what other book or manual would have the key available, and she told me, and I quote, "I don't see a key available". I then responded nicely with, "oh...well, how would I know if I got the answers right or not", to which she replied-I kid you not-with, "You know what? I honestly don't know". Nice. I thanked her for her time and decided to purchase "The phlebotomy handbook" instead. I was so tempted to ask her, "I see...well, do you know where you are right now?" But I didn't 'cause it's almost Christmas and I don't want to be mean.
This workbook has a lot of anatomy and basic physiology review. There is not much detail regarding phlebotomy, basic stuff.
This book seemed as though it would have been very helpful in preparing for a career in phlebotomy. Unfortunately, I decided not to take that career path. The good news, though, is that today, April 10, I sold it on to another customer. Also, I was able to sell it for right around the same price I purchased it for. In the small amount of time I skimmed through this book, I found that it was a great tool to be used when studying the textbook that goes along with it. Thank you !!!
