Download Free (EPUB, PDF)

Featuring over 900 state-of-the-art images, Radiology 101, Third Edition provides the basic groundwork necessary for interpreting images and understanding how current imaging modalities function. The first chapter explains the principles, capabilities, and limitations of each imaging modality. Subsequent chapters examine anatomic areas and organ systems, including a separate chapter on the pediatric chest and abdomen. Clearly labeled images show normal anatomy from various angles with various modalities and depict normal variants and common pathology. Each chapter includes suggested radiologic workups and key points summaries. This edition has extensive updates, especially on nuclear imaging (PET/CT), computed tomography (multi-slice), magnetic resonance (DWI, t-MRI, MRS), sonography (FAST), abdominal imaging (CT urography), mammography (digital mammograms), and the many indications for interventional radiology.

This book has a lot of great images, and integrates their explanations in a very concise manner. It's easy to follow along, easy to read through, and still goes into substantial depth. I definitely recommend it.

didn't fulfill my expectations! if you are looking for a really really basic radiology textbook this might not be a bad idea, but that's just it, it's too basic, maybe good for a student, not a good idea to purchase if you wanna strengthen your knowledge of radiology or wanna better understand radiology

I worked in Radiology for years but I had to buy this book for my college. I think it is not as basic (for someone with no knowledge of medical imaging) and some of the pics are deceiving (some images CT/MR are cadaver scans). I think there are better images out there. Cadavers have preservatives and do not look like the real human scans.... there were some terms used strange too.... I guess I am not a Radiologist.....The quality of some x-rays are poor as well... hard to see PICC Lines/NG Tubes etc....If I had to choose... I would use online images....

This textbook is required by my program. It is pretty easy to read with a lot of pictures. This is the only radiology book I have ever used so I cannot say if there is a better version available. Overall, I would recommend this book.

If your headed for PA or MD school this text will give any practitioner a great head start to expand their knowledge and make sense of the films you look at but never understand and the doctor doesn't always have time to explain. It will make you want FAST/Ultrasound Sonography in the rural pre-hospital setting.

The way the information is presented is not as intuitive as a good textbook should be. I believe that the way it is written could work for some people attempting to learn the basics of radiology, but it's not very helpful for me. I think the book is written by experts in their fields but not necessarily by great teachers.

excellent radiology text for med students & rotations. content is of great use while in the hospital and determining etiologies plus images are of great quality

Good book for sonography students as well as other imaging modalities. Well and clear written text. Overall, very informative book.
