Arduino (21st Century Skills Innovation Library: Makers As Innovators)
Download Free (EPUB, PDF)

The Arduino is a small inexpensive computer that can be used to build and program almost anything a maker can imagine. Readers will discover new processes, integrate visual information with text, and learn technical word meanings as they read the history of the Arduino and see how makers have put it to use in their inventions. They will also find out how to set up and program their own Arduino devices.

What I like about this book is it is very basic, easy to understand.I am not a computer genius, just trying to find technology projects for middle school girls on a beginner level that are not too simplistic but can be added onto as they gain knowledge.I've looked at LEGO Mindstorms and that is great but expensive as a first step.Arduino seems just right and this book is a good beginning. They send you to arduino.cc to get software to download. Now I need to find a book of Arduino projects (although in the back of this book they suggest going online to instructables.com which I will do).BTW do we really need to have words like "hardware" "output" and "code" pronunciations given in the Glossary?

This book is a joke!! It has less information than one blog article on the Internet. If you go to arduino.cc, click on "Learning", then navigate to "Getting Started with Arduino", you'd get the entire contents of this book, and more!!!! The cover of this book is fancier than its content. No one should pay money for this 32-page "article"!!
