This is a book for beginners. It starts out with the basics, guiding the readers through the Photoshop process.In order to get the full experience, have the program up, and practice exactly what the author is explaining. Going along with the author will give you a better understanding.This book should not overwhelm you. I think it's a great tool because if you get stuck or stumped on the program, you can easily click on a chapter through the "Table of Contents" and voila, it'll take you there.The author also provides a few exercises throughout the book so you can test how well you know the program.Practice makes perfect so load up Photoshop and use this book to practice until you have it DOWN!
Graphic designing has always fascinated me and I always wanted to be a pro designer, but it was a dream until I found this book and started practice. This is an excellent crash course guide book on Photoshop with good detail on all the important tools that need to be learned and used. I found chapter 4 very informative and helpful with brief detail on filters. These days I can easily use many Photoshop tools and filters after taking help from this book. A must read guide book for all beginners to learn about different tools, filters, layers and many more. Highly recommended.
I have the latest version of the software installed in my laptop, but have no idea how to use it. Until I read this book I had no clear idea of what was workspace, those tools, shapes, palettes etc. This is the most comprehensive beginner’s guide I’ve managed to come across. Most importantly, ‘layers’ in Photoshop had me really confused; now I can happily figure out what I am doing when I handle layers. I loved that every aspect is explained in clear and brief details so that it is easy to understand.Layers, layer styles, layer effects, free transforming, filters, type tool etc. are some of the areas I had trouble with. Thanks to this book, I can now easily navigate around it all. Also the exercises at the end helped out a great deal. I could really understand the workings of Photoshop with the help from this book. This contains really the basics, but they are very clearly explained – all the basic information! I just wish there were more exercises included.
The written information about Photoshop menu, tools and the specific details of the toolbox is coherent and comprehensive.The description of each icon and the uses of each tools are well explained from start to finished.However, It would have been better if an illustration alongside each explanation is added to get a visual view of the menu, icon, tools and of how the image would look like after applying all those tools mention in this book.But overall the book is a good guide.
I've always wanted to learn Photoshop because I love doing some kind of visual designs and it helps to gain an additional skill. The author covers some of the shortcuts and types of filters that can be done with Photoshop. Even though it would have helped to have some visual images included in the book, but overall, it's still understandable for a beginner like me.
