This is an excellent book for someone that works well with details and cross-references. I might not recommend it as a book for beginners (they will probably be overwhelmed)but it is a great book for someone that has a sizable herd. Very much beyond the basics. Would like for it to have discussed medications and dosages in more detail.

Boy, this book has almost everything, if you can find it. Good thing I studied Animal Husbandry and Ag Science in college, or I'd have to be looking all the scientific terms up in order to use this book. VERY comprehensive, and I have found what I was researching when needed, it's just jam packed with the over-top stuff I'd probably call a vet for...if I could find one that knew much about goats. I can loan them my book now!

This book is a must have for all goat owners. It is very informative, although it is geared more towards veterinarians than the average layman. I purchased one for myself and one for my equine vet, since she has been a great help with my goats and wants to learn more.

This is a medical text book! If you are looking for layman language and things to do to help your goats this may not be the book for you! I am a human medical provider I think the book is great! But I can understand how it may not be the best "How to" book!

I bought this on Kindle to save money. It has been a great asset. I don't read it often, but I am grateful to have it whenever a problem comes up with any of my goats. The search function works nicely. My vet charges $2.50 a minute to talk to me, so I figure the cost of this will come out in the wash. The book is full of good information and well written.

If you want a good and thorough medical textbook about goats, this is IT! Many books are heavily geared towards sheep, but the entire focus of this text is the goat.It would be essential for goat vets, and producers who don't have a vet nearby. It is a little technical, but still understandable for the non-professional.A must have in your goat library.

Index is a big disappointment, even though the book is 200 pages longer than the first edition, the index is much shorter. If you have your old edition, keep it for the index. You won't find the right page number, but it will help you cross reference and find the location in the new book based on where it is in the old book. I'm a big index user, but I know how expensive they are to create. Still, I hope the publisher keeps that it in mind for Edition 3.

Beautifully written and illustrated. Covers all aspects of goat health issues. Very up to date information and data. I consider this book a must have for all goat producers, be they dairy, meat or hobby owners. A lot of technical data which can be used by your treating veterinary consultant. Hightly recommended.
