I used this book when I was a student, and now 20+ years later I still use it. Some have said it's not as good as it used to be, but I find it to still be an excellent resource. For someone looking to stay in cheaper places to have money available for other things, this is an excellent book. It focuses on cheaper lodging and food, which I love because it leaves more money for other things. No need to spend lots of money hotels when I'm only going to be there for sleeping anyway. It covers the sights to see in good depth, and I have not felt the need to supplement this book with any other. When I want to look for a nice restaurant for a special meal out, I can find what I need online or through recommendations from others. The only thing I have noticed is that some of the prices to get into some of the sights have changed. This is bound to happen over time, but this book just came out recently, so I was surprised to find that already this summer. Still, an excellent resource that I would definitely recommend to those looking to enjoy travel and keep food and lodging costs down.

I wanted to avoid buying two books for a short trip to Spain and Portugal, but this book was missing lots of the smaller towns and villages that are still quite touristy along the south coast of Spain and elsewhere. It was good for the basics.

This was a great addition to our recent trip to Spain and Portugal. There were some very helpful components such as hours and prices for major attractions. We also appreciated the info regarding transportation. We tried to go to one of the restaurants listed but it appeared to have gone out of business. We would recommend this book to compliment other research and travel guides/websites.

Most of the restaurant suggested in the most recent version of the book are not valid anymore, are closed and out of business.

Expected better information

I love the Let's Go series. my parents used them when I was a child and I continue the tradition with my husband when we travel. Very helpful in ensuring you hit all the great spots!

My friend had another well known guide book that had a lot of incorrect information. Prices were off due to it being last years version, but that is to be expected.

I'm a senior but this is a very good, down and dirty guide. Why mess around with the milk toast guides that are floating around out there?
