This book is okay if you're looking for the cerebral, intellectual underpinnings of dental implants, but isn't very helpful from a clinical perspective. "20 Years of GBR" by Buser or "Dental Implant Complications" by Froum are both much more practical and user friendly, with high quality color images and readable information about implantology. I'd look elsewhere unless you can get this book very cheaply.

This book gives a good overview of implants, the selection criteria, restoration etc. For a beginner's guide this is definitely worth reading. Sometimes the text gets a little boring due to the details that a GP dentist may not be concerned with, but overall this book should be read by all dentists who plan on restoring implants.

I was forced to buy this in dental school because one of the authors is the head of our prosth department's dad. She left the next year. This is the lady who made us take all our impressions in rubber base and wrote terrible test questions with either no correct answer or multiple correct answers. And yes, in case you were wondering, I'm still bitter. Oh, and the book stinks.

Straight forward reading. Possibly an electronic version of the book would be better but it is an assigned text book and not difficult to understand.
