The best foundation book on Vascular Ultrasound. I own the old version which I thought was great. This one has more color pictures and made a great book even greater, which I didn't think was possible. Very well organized and clearly explained. Index was very helpful. It comes with a test you can take in the back which gives you 15 CMEs, which is why I purchased it in the first place.

Great book. A must if you are planning on learning for the vascular exam from SDMS. Also get the textbook that goes with this course refresher. The bundle is perfect to learn from. This is one of the few books that I am going to keep and refer too.

It's a great review, don't get me wrong, but for those of you who are studying this book to take the Vascular Registry, I must warn you about an error in this book: (hopefully, it's already been picked up on and Davies has corrected it) on pages 354 and 356 the book introduces Statistical Profile & Correlation. In this chapter you will learn about sensitiviy, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and accuracy. The book will give you a table/chart that you can draw out during testing that will help with the equations for calculating each statistical profile. However, on page 354, the book gives an example calculation that is flawed. It begins with "One hundred twenty (120) patients . . . had such and such test done." The very next sentence says "One hundred thirty-two (132) of the tests . . . said 'this.'" Right off the bat, this is incorrect. 120 patients = 120 tests/studies performed. You can not say "132 tests out of 120 tests." This is blatantly incorrect. Albeit, you can still do the equation on the page with the numbers given.Second error: on the very next page, page 355, the book illustrates the table/chart it just taught you to draw and fill out on the previous pages. On page 355 the book tries to show you what it would look like if the table/chart was written another way. *The way the book has the table/chart written on page 355 is WRONG. For those of you who see and understand this, on page 355 the table/chart should ACTUALLY read "False Negatives" where the book says "False Positives." And should actually read "False Positives" where the book says "False Negatives."Please be careful of this. This is a subject that will most likely be on the Registry Exam and it is one of the most difficult subjects to learn and memorize in the book. I hate that Davies did not pick up on this before publishing, especially with it being a particularly confusing subject to begin with.

bought for my brother when he was in school.price was perfect....much cheaper than what the school offered or anyone else online. He still has the book....keeping for reference.

I just took and passed the RVT Exam with a 655! I used this book, and the set of Davies material ( question book, CD-rom, and set of flash cards) I made my own flash cards as well based on this book. It is a little overwhelming and seems disorganized at first, but it will all come together once you have a solid understanding of hemodynamics/anatomy/physics. I highly recommend this book and the Davies set of you are sitting for your exam. Also, do X zone 5-7 days before, it fills in any gaps that this book left out, and prepares you to be in "ARDMS test mode". Good luck!

THIS BOOK IS GREAT! EXPLAINS THINGS VERY WELL. I'M A GENERAL TECH LOOKING TO TAKE THE VASCULAR BOARDS.IF YOU ARE DEBATING BETWEEN THIS AND EDERMAN BUY THIS, EDERMAN JUST REPHRASED THIS BOOK ( I COMPARED THE TWO MATERIALS, AND EDERMAN'S INSTRUCTORS JUST PARAPHRASED THIS BOOK). HAVEN'T TAKEN THE BOARDS YET,BUT I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS BOOK.WILL GIVE IT 5 STARS WHEN I PASS THE BOARDS!

Great book! Very detail and straightforward. Everything you need to know for the RVT boards are in this book.

This is an excellent book for registry review. It was my main book for studying, I passed on first try. It"s content matched the registry questions very closely. I would highly recommend it.
