There are a number of books that cover the field of Clinical Gait Analysis and they all have their merits, but this books stands apart from the crowd because it asks the reader to think about the questions instead of just accepting the standard answers. Unlike many books, this one covers both the technical and mathematical issues, as well as discussing the clinical interpretation of the data. I find it an invaluable reference volume for those simple questions like "How do I calculate step length?" that seem easy - until you try and calculate, and then generate reproducible results, from raw data in a way that works for both normal subjects and clinical subjects. The equipment and technology described in the book is a little dated now (the book was published in 2006) but the subject that the book addresses has not changed - it's a worthy addition to the bookshelf of anyone working in any Clinical Gait Analysis field.

Not a bad book - too technical at times and esoteric at other times. After reading this and Gait Analysis: an introduction, there was no comparison. The Whittle book KO'ed this one. I did buy this for a reference and use it occasionally.

Useful book. Lovely to read and easy to understand.
